What does your job role involve?
Responsible for creating detailed AV drawings with mechanical & electrical requirements in architectural plans, Schematic flow diagrams for Audio, Video & Control system using AutoCAD for Project implementation.
What made you choose a career in technology?
Passion, Interest, continuous learning and growing demand for the AV Technology with new innovations day by day.
Did you study an IT or technology related subject at GCSE, A-Level or University?
Yes, we do have subject related to CAD with Mechanical & Electrical with basic learning.
Did you get any work experience in IT or technology before this role?
Yes, worked in AV Industry as a CAD Engineer from past 6+ years
Do you think there is a lack of females in the IT and tech sector?
No, AV Industry are giving opportunity for more women as they are best enough at more creative and innovative solutions. There is a strong and growing network of support for women in tech.
Do you find there is a stereotype that a career in IT or technology is just for men?
No.
What would entice women to study technology related courses?
Creating a learning environment, Mentorship, and potential for growth encourages women to explore.
Are there barriers when it comes to women getting into tech?
No.
How could we encourage more women to start a career in tech?
Offering opportunities for training and professional development. Providing support to develop leadership skills and advancing women into senior and executive roles. Encouraging work – life balance.
What advice would you give to young women at the start of their career?
Set the career goals, develop confidence and keep learning by taking additional courses to stay updated with the latest technology. Take on challenges to come out of the comfort zone.
